Scopes for Paper or fur?

I find myself looking at scopes as my iorn sight eyes are ....
Fact is I am a fair weather paper shooter, good light, 100, 200 yards all my rifles are production and millsurp.  No bench rest quality.  nothing fancy.  I don't need low light accumulation, and I don't need a scope that I could use as a hammer in a pinch.  Simmons, Bushnell on the low end leuopold et all on the high end.  I don't want to buy Junk, but I don't need to buy gold when copper will do.  Any of you have thougts on this?  Thanks in advance.  JB

The last scope I bought new was a 3x9 power Nikon, about $165. The cross hairs are not even close to fine the fit and finnish is not even close to other costlier scopes but it does one thing very well. It sit's on my rifle and allow's me to shoot fairly well with a 243.

I like old Redfield scopes and Tasco World class. For the money Tasco World class are the best I ever owned. I've one on a 6.5-06, 25-06, 308 and a 6.5x55.
