Bought a new truck...
« on: March 17, 2006, 02:08:02 PM »
Traded in my 2003 F150 4.2 V6 extended cab XLT for a new left over 2005 F150 regular cab with the 5.4 Triton motor...400 miles....all heavy duty with tow package...300 horse.

Old school meets new school...roll up windows...gotta push the door lock buttons down...rubber floor....very sturdy truck..."heavy 1/2 ton"

Air, single cd player "XL" version silver metallic...heavy duty tow package with factory hitch...od 4 spd auto trans...cruise.

The 2003 gave me many problems in 2 1/2 years and 16,000 miles...snapped yesterday when I saw the rear main seal was leaking...just last month it needed a new intake manifold gasket and has had multiple exhaust problems...lotta rattles...squeeks...rubber coming loose...time to go.....

Hope this new one is better...seems very solid and really giddyups! Like the new body style better too....not as fancy as the last one...more "business like" not a "dude" truck....a mans truck... 8)  :D

Yeah, spun the wheel of fortune one more time....I've heard nothing but praise for the new F150's and great reviews on the 5.4 Triton V8....

Marked down from $26,475 to $18,475...couldn't say no...the dealership had a real firesale....the Dealership caught on fir last week and the were cleaning house...literally!

What a mess!

And actually it is the 2nd year of the new body style...they changed in 2004....

They sold the old 2003 bodies along with the new truck style as "Heritage editions"

This is what it looks like:

Except mine has the foglights built into the bumper and my rims are painted the same color as the truck...have to work on chrome rims later... 8)
