feild grade finish

after reading the thread on how to touch up a premier grade finish the question comes to mind on how to touch up the feild grade .
Is it possible/practicle  to polish a feild grade to look like a preimer without removeing things like the S/N ? , I have a pair of feild grades and the S/Ns dont to seem very deep. the bead blast finish has some minor marks to it now but these are shooters not safe queens.

Sure you can, I use "Blue Magic" polish on mine and applied  by hand with a clean terry cloth washrag.

The gun will look like it has a bright satin finish when completed.

My field grade looks better than the finish of a factory Premier Grade.

The product can be found at hardware stores and auto supply stores and will work on all metals.
