.22 ultra mag sight in tip needed
« on: December 06, 2005, 04:53:52 PM »
hi guys!!!   newbie here!!!!!!

i have a h&r .22 mag ultra and am shooting winchester 40grain super x.  rookie question but what are you guys shooting at to determine a common zero.  ie.  dead on at 50 = dead on at 200.  not that the .22 mag would equal that but is there a good yardage to put this dead on at?  i dont think i would be shooting out to 200 but possibly.  thanks for any and all help---jeff

There are three .172" caliber rimfires, the .17hmr which is a necked down 22mag and the 17Mach2 which is a necked down .22 Stinger. There's also the .17 Aguila which is a .22 Lr necked to .17 cal. The Aguila can be fired in a 17Mach2 to chamber but not the other way around. The other ".17" usually refers to the .17 Remington which is a centerfire cartridge.
