griz; I have an '05 Outland Max 400 HO. It's the best thing since pockets on a shirt! Great power(more than any other 400 and even some 500's), great handling, and best of all it rides like a Cadaliac! The Max is the two person model which has an 8 inch longer wheelbase which allows the passenger to sit foward of the rear axle. The passenger has their own seat and grip handles (you dont have to tell them that though, if you want 'em huggin' ya) and footrests. The passenger sits slightly higher than the driver so they can have a good view of where they're going. The four wheel drive is switchable and the rear axle is limited slip and the front has what is called visco-lok. That applies however much drive to the front that is needed, even up to and including full lockup! The engine braking is phenomenal and the brake arrangement is unusual but practical. The only "knock" on the Outlander is that the brakes to some dont have any "feel". I suppose I can agree with that, however, I have to use the brakes so rarely it doesn't matter to me. The newest version is the 800 HO. Now ya might need glue on your seat for that one. If raw power is what you crave, it's the most powerful ATV on the market now. Way more power than I need, even with my wife as a passenger. It might be a lot of fun though, come to think of it................
