ordered my bobwhite today
« on: March 20, 2006, 09:42:58 PM »
Ordered my new CZ Bobwhite side by side today...a 12 guage...was intending to get it with 28" barrels, but wherever my dealer was ordering from was out of stock, so I decided to take a chance on 26" barrels. He quoted me $569 for it, so I couldn't pass it up. I'm going trout fishing with a few buddies April 1st about 25 miles from his shop, so I hope it's in by then so I can run down there while I'm that close and pick it up. :-D

My new Bobwhite
« Reply #1 on: April 03, 2006, 05:07:35 AM »
Picked up my new gun friday afternoon. I really like it...good quality wood, though not much figure to it, but some good quality checkering on it, and a nice fininsh on the barrels and the heat treated receiver. It really seems quick handling with those 26 inch barrels. I just hope I won't be missing those last two inches. Any suggestions on limbering up the action other than just shooting it a lot?

Two suggestions. First ALWAYS make sure you have a good bit of high quality grease on all the contact areas between frame and barrel and foreard. If that along doesn't do it then use JB Bore Paste to replace the grease and work that action open and closed 50 or more times and then clean it off good and regrease it. Should be nice and smooth and the JB is so mild an abrasive it will not wear the action, just smooth it. Crocus cloth can also be used if you see any areas that need a wee bit more. NO sand paper of any grit tho. Only JB or crocus cloth.

My Huglu's haven't needed this but my Stoeger sure did and it smoothed right up after the JB treatment. I've used it on several guns over the years to smooth them up.

No   But I will try to make it happen before the end of this month and if not in May for sure. It is only one of over a dozen I've yet to get out to fire so it's in good company.
