con10der309. I make jewelry, and have converted several tusk into jewelry. What I usually recommend is polishing the tooth in a rock polisher/tumbler for several days, then I set it in sivler and put a jump ring or bail on it so it can be worn on a chain. I have also done several hundred elk tooth rings and necklaces. There should be any number of people in your area that can do it. Following is a list of the Gem and Mineral Clubs in Pa. Usually, several of the members are accomplished silversmiths and could handle the job for you. If you can't find someone there let me know and I will try to provide you with the name and address of someone who will. I would take the job, but I have 49 work days left, I plan to retire on 2 June, hook up to my 5th wheel and hit the road for a couple of years.
