Last Saturday I was lucky enough to shoot in an informal benchrest match at a local gun club.
22 Rimfire, no rear bags and 9 power max on the scope. Targets at 50 yards.
I shot my Marlin 25n, (stock) equipped with BKL rings and a Swift Premier 3-9x40 scope. Wolf Match Extra ammo.
Shot a 220 7x.
There was a bonus stage involved. Two aspirins, hit one, plus 20, miss it -5. Possible of +40 or -10. I chose not to shoot the aspirin.
I borrowed a bull bag for my shooting.
Third in x-es. 11x's and 10x's ahead of me.
Placed about 7th of 20 shooters.
I think I like this game. Even though I have alot to learn.
For those readers not familiar with benchrest, the x-ring on our targets are about the size of this 0.
This was not a sanctioned match but was well attended and we all had a great time. Lee, the match organiser also whooped up a batch of his Goulash for lunch. He also took top gun with his Rem 40X and an outrageous score.
Lots of Rugers (modded 10/22's and 1 77/22) a few Kimbers and if I remember correctly one Anshutz were in the field as well a one Rem 597 if I recall correctly. Oh yeah, one AR-15 with a 22 conversion was on the line as well. Probably some that I am forgetting but I think I covered the basics.
Thanks for reading.
