« on: March 31, 2006, 05:06:08 PM »
Hi guys. looking for a little help here. I have a 7tcu that is used but new to me. having alot of problems getting the cases in and out of the weapon.they are hanging up on the extractor. I have full length sized and trimmed to length, and scrubbed the chamber. is the extractor easy to remove/replace? any ideas or suggestions??? love the pistol, very accurate but it's a pain to load/unload.  help!  dcl

Hi
Maybe...Does the extracter flex down? The extracter is supposed to have a flat spring, that lets it flex down and allows the case out.  Without a case in the chamber, see if the extracter will drop down after it has slid back. It should drop down enough to clear the bottom of the chamber. If it doesn't go down that might be the problem. There is a roll pin that holds the extracter in place. It is easy to use a punch and remove to check.

Are you sure they're hanging up on the extractor?  On mine, the bases were a tad bit too large to allow the cases to be fully chambered.  By pushing my cases (lightly lubed bases) all the way through a steel .38 spl sizing die it squeezed them enough to chamber without a problem.  Kind of a home made small-base die.  I've never used brand new cases so don't know if it's the chamber or the brass.
