Tried out my new .243 stainless Handi at the range yesterday. Shot the Federal fusion rounds, 80 grain, at 25 and 50 yards (it's a baffled range in a built up area, that's the max yardage available). The rifle shot extremely well out of the box, all groups under 3/4". I put a Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32 on it using Millet rings. Visually boresighted it thru the bore at the target and was within 2" of center with the first group.
I really like the .243, first one I've ever owned. I had my Savage M11 in 7mm-08 there as well for an initial sight-in (same Nikon scope set up on it), and even though the 7mm-08 has quite a bit less recoil than my Remington M788 .308, the .243 recoil is quite a bit less. I could have shot it all day.
Hope to get out on a KD range in the next few weeks and see how she does at 100 - 300 yards. I will let you all know.
BTW, this is my first Handi. Very impressed with the way it feels; light, yet solid and sure.
