Never posted on this forum but read it faithfully. So I thought I would throw this out there since I have never seen it posted here. Have any of you ever looked at the Bobcat 2100/2200 Utility vehicles? I bought one of the 2100's last year to help out with the high school marching band. I use it to pull up to 4, 5x8' dollies that are hooked together train style. We load them with all the pit equpment such as drums, keyboards, etc. All the heavy stuff that can't be carried any distance. We help out on band competition trips around the state. That being said I don't farm or any thing so the only other use is around the house with heavy yard work such as landscaping, tree trimming, etc.
I looked over the Gators, Mules, Rhinos,Cub Cadets, and from what I saw the Bobcat beats them all hands down. It has all the same basic features with a 400cc Kawasaki, 4 wheel drum brakes, 2" recievers front and back, power lift bed that is steel with an alluminum bottom, Twin Alluminum I-Beam frame. And I paid about a grand less than most of the competition. About the only thing  don't like about it is the fuel tank is a little hard to fill. It sets under the pasenger seat and the spout is not located very convieniently. So has any one else ever looked at them? If so what is your oppinion. As far as I'm concerned it gets an A+.  Actually I never knew they even made one untill I was looking  to buy and a coworker told me about them. I never see them advertised.    KN

Everyone to their own taste, as for comparison to other manufactures again it depends on what your going to do with it. There are resaons others charge more and if your looking at a grand less, than you made a good choice.

I looked at Bobcats a while back and found them to much more expensive than competing makes.  Which models did you compare them to?  How much did you pay for your Bobcat?  

I see that it compares nicely to the Mule 600 , but with more bed & fuel capacity.   Other than that, it is slower, does not come with a protective roll cage, or have the amount of after market accessories of the Mule, or gators, and doesn't even make the same page as a Rhino or Ranger.   The Mule comes in 4WD if you want it.  

I'm glad it fits your needs, but I can't see any where that it beats any of the other major brands models hands down.  ?????

I didn't mean to sound like I was putting down the other brands. They are all good in thier own ways. You have a good point about accessaries. I didn't buy mine with that in mind. I was comparing the 2wds in the 400cc range. In my neck of the woods a Gator is at least a grand more without the electric lift. I was just curious as to why I have never seen them mentioned here. These things are sure handy to have around.   KN

I also took a good look at the Gators before I bought the 2000 Mule 550 back in 2000.  I found that the Gator cost considerably more (John Deere name) and still ran the same Kawasaki motors, but the CVT was exposed making them slip happy when wet.  They also had no rear suspension.  

I think the Bobcat would probably compare well with the new Kawasaki Mule 600 or 610.  The 600 is 2WD the 610 being a 4X4.   It looks like the Bobcat has a greater bed capacity than the 600, but ther wise they are very similar. What was the price tag on the Bobcat if you don't mind saying?   The 600 can be had for a  little over 5K.

I see the Bobcats alot in Houston right now on downtown construction sites, along with a few Kubota RTV's.   I see the Mules alot with the Fire Departments.

I paid $6200 for mine a year ago. Like I said its the 2100 2wd model. All the dealers around me wanted at least $7300 for a 2wd gator, and that was without the electric lift. One reason I went with the Bobcat is that its a little narower than most. It fits my trailer better. And I really liked the 2" recivers front and rear.   KN

thats a bit more than the 600 Mule, but atleast it has a better bed capacity.  Enjoy it and post a few pics of it when you can.
