I am still planning on being there; guess no one is along my route.  Might have to bring my lab (Harley), he is always bugging me to go.  He does have his driver’s license, but it is only good in Virginia, not much help on a long trip.

What is weather forecast for Sunday?  I know still to early to matter.

Bringing 204 Ruger, 223 Remington and 22-250 Remington.  Been playing musical scopes between them all, will have to zero there.  Also the new Taurus 41 Magnum Raging Bull, hope to mount the 2x scope on it tonight.

Any requests for any other H&R/NEF calibers.

hey 3 years isn't all that bad, i know some married people that are much farther apart. just let her know that i'm amazingly cute, muscular ,a good dancer, i look good in anything from a tux to GAP to blue jeans, very respectful to women , financially well (zero debt and good savings), about to start a career in the army, i can fix a car when she crashes it, i can build any house she wants myself, i have a large and growing gun collection (and i wont go as far as to get into the barrel length topic at this time  ) , i have no problem taking orders from women, i can smooth talk Puff Daddy out of his Bling, and i'm absolutely not conceeded :-D (yeah right), i just have confidence.

asides from all that i'm a very normal person.

oh and single.

so is she cute or does she take after her dad?

Leaving first thing tomorrow morning.

My 41 Mag ammo failed to get here in time, will bring it anyway, maybe I will find some on the way.  Anybody know a good place along my route to buy some ammo and handi's?

Ohio Shoot on Sunday 9 April 2006

People Present: Stimpylu32, Shaner, Grampa Mike, and a man named Jeff (not sure if he was a forum member or a member of the club).

Weather:  Absolutely Perfect, very slight headwind (0-5) at times.  It stayed sunny all day.

Range: Shaners range is in a very pleasant setting.  Only thing missing were hammacks (to take a short rest every once in awhile, old guy thing).

Food:  Stimpylu32 brought and cooked brats and dogs, buns and chips, tasted great being in the outdoor air all day.

I got lucky on the way there.  There is a Cabela’s in Wheeling WV right on I70 that I almost passed.  I stopped for about 2 hours Saturday nite and did some shopping.  Picked up a 22 Hornet Handi (SB2-224).  They only had one box of ammo left in 41 Mag.  Found various bags of brass that I was short on.

Got my 223 Rem and 22-250 Rem on the paper at 25 yards, then moved to adult range (as Shaner puts it) to zero in.  Shot the rest of the day at 100 yards with everyone else.  223 Rem sure loves the Winchester white box stuff, but the 22-250 didn’t like it much.  Best I could do with the 22-250 was about 2.5 inches with the Winchester white box stuff.  Have not measured any of my targets yet, but the 223 gave me some great groups.

I let the others speak on theirs since they forgot to give me their targets to bring back.

EVOC ONE: the interstate thru western PA and WV was pretty potholed in spots, winter weather damage.  I bounced around a lot for a while.

MSP Ret: used the knife for the first time, guess what for?  Cutting the tape from my new 22 Hornet Handi box.  Appropriate don’t you think?

Thanks Stimpylu32 and Shaner for a great day with good people.

Sorry the report is late , just got home from work . Grandpa Mike sumed it up perty good . a great time was had by all i think .

Jeff was a buddy of Shaners and also a club member , he brought two 243's that he had bore sighted and wanted to sight in , after turning down 20 clicks and right 10 clicks he was able to hit a 2 foot by 2 foot target at 50 yards , we were telling him that the only he was going to kill a ground hog was to scare it to death .

Shaner brought just about every handi he owned , some of the other club members were very inpressed with his 45/70 loads with Unique and 405 GC bullets .

I got to be the first to shoot Mikes new 41 raging bull and was very inpressed with it , it shoot well with very little recoil .

The orange monster was shooting great with the Remington 50 gr. HP's but did not care for the WWB's in 45 gr. , the wolf and silver bear stuff would be ok if you just want to scare off stray dogs .  :)

And if you want to have some fun place a full CO2 fire ext. behind Mikes target and wait for the bullseye shot like i did .  :-D  :-D  :-D

Hey guys, sorry I missed it, I didn't end up getting off work till 8:30am, and by then I was a dead puppy so I went home to sleep!

I have decided that 3rd shift sucks rocks when I want to go do fun things, but is good that I don't have to deal with the brown nosers and other low lifes.

GramPaMike: I guess it would have been a rough ride after all. I'm truly sorry that I missed it, but was probably for the best.  There's always next year!    Right, Ohio Shooter's?

Congrats on the .22 Hornet.  I know you wanted to pick one up.

MSP Ret:  I agree.  That area of PA is nice.

Glad to hear you folks had a good time.  Another successful Handi-holics outing.

Shaner: Sounds like a plan.  A fall event could be a tune-up for deer season. as well as just plain 'ole shootin'.

Keep us posted.
