Does anyone know if it is safe and feasible to rechamber a .45 Colt barrel for a G2 to .460 S&W? I really would like a .460 carbine and this approach would seem the most cost effective means of accomplishing it. As long as it is safe to do, it would seem logical that the chamber should only have to be cut a little deeper in order to do the conversion, unless the rifling twist is not sufficient to stabilize the bullet. Thanks.

The .454 Casull and even longer .460 are Encore ONLY not Contender or G2 rounds.

Oh well, that stinks. May have to find some other means to get a .460 carbine...perhaps a rebarreled bolt action. Thank you, sir.

Why not sell or trade your G2 and buy a Encore in 460 Mag?

I've got a few great barrels for my G2 already, and I am under the impression that .22LR barrels for the Encore are hard to come by, and I really like shooting .22. Obviously, I could be wrong on this, being new to T/C and all.

Then you do what most of us do: keep your G2 and buy an Encore. One of the things about having these guns is that you can never have enough.

I think that's going to be my plan of attack. A 16"-20" .460 carbine seems like a great brush gun for hogs.

TC is making a 460 Mag in a 20 inch barrel for the Encore.

T/C makes the 45/70, .460 S&W, .500 S&W as well and the 209x50 in the Pro-Hunter Katahdin 20"bbl they are sst fluted bbls. they should retail around $800.00 for the complete gun and just over $300.00 for the bbl and you will need the proper forearm for it.
