About the best you can do is Burris signature Z Rings.  Most scopes will have the eye bell clear using the medium heigth ones, some scopes with large eye bells will need high.  I know I could be punnished for it, but I ground a little off the top of the hammer spur so mine would clear with medium.  Larry

Burris Zee's are good.  I haven't used their Signature Zee's, but I have no doubt they're as good as the Zee's and then some.

I've also had good luck with Warnes rings.  Just make sure you get steel rings.  I'm sure not all of them are bad, but I've had slight griping problems, and major problems with threads being stripped, when using aluminum rings (even Leupold alums).

Only thing I'll put aluminum (rings or bases) on these days are rifles I dont' care about, or rifles that I want to keep light (and on those a peep sight would probably be a better option).

That's a low recoil round, so I would think anything would do. I just mounted a 8x32x44 Tasco on a .223 Handi for varmints. You can spend a bunch of money on rings if you're not careful.
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

The size (diameter) would depend on scope tube size (30mm or 1 inch), and the height would depend on the objective lens diameter of scope chosen (32mm, 40mm, 50mm, etc.), and also allow for hammer clearance.  I have a 1" tube 3-9x40mm scope which requires at least medium high rings.  I went with high because at the time they were all out of medium high rings, but surprisingly not too high at all and pretty comfortable, and clear the hammer nicely.  Here's a few surprisingly nice quality rings to choose from at decent prices.

Ring height is going to be dependent on ocular bell/power ring clearance, not objective size, a 50mm AO scope can be mounted in medium rings IF the hammer clears and even that's not a problem with a little hammer modification which can be found in the FAQ and Help sticky.

The scope rail on your .243 is an NEF/H&R standard rail, it's not a Weaver #82 as in your picture, don't confuse the poor guy!!!

Oh crap, my bad. I got carried away posting the pics. Sorry 6tmile. The rings are the Burris Zee Rings though, I did get that right :D

Thanks Quick, for the swift correction
