Has any one tried the New Lee Classic Turret Press. A direct comparison with the older, standard Lee turret press would be especially interesting.[/u]

I have a Lee 4 hole turret press, I am not sure what a "Classic" is. I disconnected the auto index, and use it for pistol reloads. If I decide to reload for rifles on a turret press I would go  for a RCBS. I bought the Lee reluctantly for the 4 die operation for pistols, it has worked out fine.

I have used a Lee 4 stage the same way you talk about.  I wanted a single stage for rifle and got the Lee Cast Press for $59.  I seems to be built very well.  I have not had a chance to load yet but hope to get to it soon.

If I read the adds correctly, the classic turret press has the cast iron base construction of the classic cast press with a 4 hole turret configuration. Supposed to have a longer stroke than the standard Lee turret. Prices run $25-30 higher than the standard turret in Midway and Midsouth catalogs
