209x50 barrel or CVA Kodiak Gun?
« on: April 19, 2006, 02:31:36 PM »
I currently own a CVA optima that I like but I am considering getting another Inline rifle.  I was considering giving my son my Optima and getting a 209 x 50 barrel for my TC encore.  I can get a whole CVA Kodiak for the price of a TC barrel and forend. Is the accuracy or quality of the TC that much better than the CVA? The stock on my otpima is even nicer than my Rem Model 7.  I have 2 TC hawkens that are well made and accurate, but I have shot other inlines and it seems when you find the right load they all are pretty accurate. Your thoughts and feedback are appreciated. Thanks.

You get what you pay for...which means get the .50 Encore barrel and don't look back!  Took me awhile, but finally found that my .50 barrel likes .452 Hornady 300 XTP/Harvester crushribs/100 gr.(2) pyrodex pellets that is one very accurate load in my Encore. 8)

As long as I can shoot inlines I will own a Encore M/L. Get the Encore barrel and don't look back. In my opinion they are the best muzzleloader made.  :D

With out a doubt. I'd go with the 209x50 Encore Bbl.

I bought a 209x50 for my Encore last season.  It will shoot as well as many of my centerfire rifles.  The Optima is fine, too, but they are really just a poor imitation of the Encore, in my opinion.  Just look at the stock design and some of the other features.  I think that you would like the Encore as much as I have.
