9-14-06 puppy hunt
« on: September 15, 2006, 07:42:39 AM »
Well me and curdog took are puppys for there first hunt in the woods, the pups i posted pictures of the other day.we went to a place we always just seem to get sows.we took 2 of his younger strike dogs and one of mine to help the pups and my big dogo catch dog.we let them out and to are surprize they headed out to hunt.we didn't go to long when they hit a small sow with some small ones. time we got there they had already killed them.we were headed back to the truck, talking how proud we were of them when i told curdog smell that boar, well the strike dogs was gone a different way and about that time a big red boar took off.if curdog had thought to shoot him lol that would have been it,but hes not use to carrying a rifle and we watched him run off toward the red river,we said hes gone to texas.the pups made there way to where he was when are strike dogs made it back about that time the fight was on and i turned my dogo aloose he ran in some of the worst stuff u could have been in and he cut 2 of his dogs and stuck my dogo through the bottom of his mouth and took off.well we caught the dogs and took care of them and was going to the house when are strike dogs caught the trail of the first one and the race was on.we walked about 8 miles to find them worn out.we finnanly got them loaded and headed home.all in all we had a good hunt with those young pups with none of them hurt but the older dogs.seems you always get into the big boars when you really don't need to. i don't know who was worn out more the pups are us lol
