what is the most common type of rifling in a new 1895 cb in 45/70

Ballard rifling I believe. They will shoot cast bullets well.

i also thought they had ballard cut type rifling , but my gun has micro groove. i don't plan to shoot cast bullets often, so is this an advantage or not?

All Marlin 1895CB rifles have ballard rifling. How many grooves do you have? If you don't have 12 grooves, you don't have microgroove rifling. In addition, microgroove barrels will shoot cast bullets just fine if they are sized 0.001" to 0.002" over groove diameter and a gas check is used if you are going to drive them over 1600 fps.

I thought all 1895 Marling had Ballard cut rifling.

ok after closer instection,finding that that the grooves are wider than the lands, the two sides of the lands appeared to me to be micro grooves just like my336 amazing what new batteries for the bore light will disclose.

Help me understand. Is the 1 to 2 thousandths "over groove diamenter" the width or depth of cut. Also, is the gas check and groove diameter a function of one and another?

If you slug your bore you will be able to determine the groove diameter of your bore. In the Marlin 1895s with Microgroove rifling that will usually be .458". Hence you would size your cast bullets .459" or .460". The gas check is applied to a cast bullet to protect the base from hot gases. Gas checks are sized appropriately to fit the base of the cast bullet designed to accommodate a gas check.
