At the end of April I intend to cut off my internet service here at home. I will still try to check this site from time to time. I may still be reached at kenbev10@hotmail.com. I can check this address at work a few times a week. It has been great chatting with and dealing with the people on this site. GOD BLESS everyone and I will be praying for you.....Ken

PS: The price of living is climbing but the income stays the same.....

With all the hype about Gas $$ going up this summer, I know I'm going to have to cut some corners too, so I respect that.

Geez Ken, with all the free ISPs available, no need to cut yourself off completely!! I know lots of folks that get by with Juno and Net Zero that are happy with their limited service.....

Know the feeling.  Probably would do the same if wife didn't work from home and her company pays the cable bill.  The way gas is going up, its a wonder we all ain't broke.  Paid $3.01 the other day.

Best of luck kenbev and check in often. Look into what quick mentioned about the free or very inexpensive ISP's around. It would be nice to have you stay here with us. I understand completely though, what with the price of high speed internet connections and the skyrocketing price of gas. I know I will not be able to go the places I would like to just because of the gas prices....<><.... :cry:

well on gas $$, i work at a station, the fax from the provider tonight suggestes a drop in price. THis is Duluth and nearby towns ie CLoquet, hermantown, ect.

Sorry to say, where I live, Cape Cod, a real tourist attraction :( , and perhaps other places as well the gas prices will continue to rise, even if the providers/suppliers reduce their prices. Price gouging is rampant. On the Cape prices rise every summer, just drive back over the bridge and onto the mainland and the price is about .12 to .20 cents cheaper every summer. For years we have been told 2 things, that gas does not cost more on the Cape than off cape :-D  :-D  :-D and that it costs more because they have to truck it a longer distance  :-D  :-D  :-D , come on now how can you have it both ways? :shock:  :shock:  :roll: . First, 20 miles or so over the bridge is not "a longer distance", and if that is so, why gas is cheaper 300 miles awy from the distrubution point in the vicinity of my camp in Maine!!! They both use the same distribution point!!!....<><.... :?  :-D  :roll:  :D  :(

This is not getting any better in the near future. We in Alberta have  the best economy in Canada, and produce a pile of oil. Oil companies making some of the highest profits in history. So what is the scoop?

There is an interesting paper back book called
The End Of Oil. By Paul Roberts  an American energy adviser, came out last year. Check it out it is an eye opener.

Yep, me too!  We are all feeling the CRUNCH.  Ken, don't forget about the local library.  That's a good place to get on line, also.  Hope things get better for you.  

I got a break, last week.  Picked up a 4 banger mileage getter from my kid.  So, for the price of 2 weeks worth of gas in the V10 pick-up,  I can pay the insurance and drive to and from work for the whole month.  Will save me about $75 a month.

:D Kenbev: I here you my raise this year got ate up by health insurance...and a few cents more......If the gas price keeps going up there will be no ends meat for alot of people.....Things could get tight for alot of folks.....Good luck kenbev...
