Advise on Whites ?
« on: April 27, 2006, 10:24:46 AM »
..was wondering if you guys could educate me.

Don't really know much about Whites !
What's the difference between the Super 91 and the Model 97 or 98. What are their advantages/disadvantages. Are they lead shooters exclusively or do they shoots sabots well too?
Are the .451 more accurate than the .504?
Which one would you get if you target shoot exclusively and go for accuracy and repeatabiliy ?
How are their Kits and do they only shoot White bullets or does somebody have good results with home made lead cast conicals as well ?

Thanks, Leo

Try www.whitemuzzleloading.com

I own the Super 91 in .451 cal. this model has 1:20 twist and 24" tapered barrel. I have only shot this one, but I am sure others will respond when they see this.

The Whites are made in the USA and are very well made to last a lifetime.

The company has its problems, but I just bought some extra parts and not worried about the gun as long as I do my part and take care of it.  :-)

There have been a lot discussions about these here:

http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tt.aspx?forumid=26

Model 97 has a cocking leaver
Model 98 has a pull cock

Garanteed they will shoot both lead and sabots... really big lead and really smal small sabots - I am biased but I believe the .504 to be the best...

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

Anybody know anything about the White Bison KIt In a .504?
Can it be scoped?
Looks like it might be a fun thing to put together

Thanks, redpep

redpep,

The Bison is a version of the G-Series, it has a blued straight (bull) barrel and are very accurate but heavier than the tapered barreled Whitetail. The front sight is dovetailed into the barrel. You will need to order scope mounts for the Whitetail I believe. I have a G-Series Whitetail that I bought in the early to mid '90's, still looks like new.

Go here and scroll down to the bison. Take a look around, lots to learn from DOC.
