what gun and state to hunt them in?

i have my 2200mag and iam going to get a .177 in 900-1000fps. can i use these 2 for prairres dogs,ground squirrels and marmots and with range can i kill them at and a good state to hunt in?? i know my 2200 with 600fps can kill a jack at 25-30 yards
