« on: April 28, 2006, 10:14:39 AM »
Anyone had any experience with one of these? got one about six weeks ago, have shot it a fair amount, lotta fun.

   15 grains 3f black
   .311 dia ball
.010 patch lubed with moose snot

will shoot one hole groups pretty consistantly at 25 yards. which I consider pretty good with 69 year old eyes and open sights.

this is gonna be a tough one on the tree rats!!

I ain't even got the barrel broke in good!!

I've got a CVA Varmint 32.  It shoots a PRB very accurately with either 20 or 30 gr FFFG Goex.  I'm starting to play with a 70 gr "Ball-et" and working on a coyote load.

I own two CVA .32 cal. squirrel rifles and they shoot real accurate and the .32 caliber does a job on squirrels. I usually try for a head shot and in early season it is easy to sneak up on a squirrel with all the leaf cover to hide ya. I'm hoping in a couple of years to get my grandson involved with M/L, but he just a little to young right now, he's 8.  I think the .32 caliber would be a good introduction based on rifle size and weight. I've been looking at them.  Does anybody make a .32 caliber in a flintlock?

Thanks.

I bought a replacement 32 barrel from rmcsports.com for my lyman trade rifle. the barrels will also fit some tc's as well.

The Crocket is a sweet rifle even if it is a Traditions. I use a thicker patch and pyrodex but every thing else is the same as you stated. 20 grains of American Pioneer also works well in mine. I cut my patches on the barrel as I find centering those tiny patches and balls a real pain.
