What's the best way to fit hte barrel to my new forend.  The 308 bull barrel is a little tight going into the forend.  Its the new Choate forend.

Is the barrel channel not wide enough? f not then just find a socket piece and sand it out with a rough grit sand paper then smooth it out with finer grits. thats the only reason i can see for a tight fit.

Yes, its the barrel channel.  It fits but is alittle snug. I want it be be floated so I'll sand it a alittle.

Before sanding, if you haven't already, try the o-ring trick.

A sharp blade will do the trick as well, just pull back with the edge straight, and it will shave just a little at a time depending on how much pressure you apply. As pascalp said though, try the O-Ring first.
