.36 is O.K.

Hi,
I was sort of agonising over the choise of a .45 or a .36 in a light rifle for off hand targets. Well, as it turned out, I got a .36. My initial impression of those little 65 grain pills was that they would be too light. However, this aint a problem. I'm scoring as well with this little guy as I did with my ugly but accurate .50 "Hawken"
By the way, it's a T.C. with a 1:48 twist. I load 25 grains of 3f Goex and a .014 patch.
It's really a delight to shoot.
Anyone thinking about getting one for target work shouldn't hesitate (I.M.H.O.)! There just might be a bit of fiddling about to get the right load.

I've been shooting and hunting with 36's, both flint and percussion, for something over 25 years.  It's a fine caliber.  Current 36 "pet" is a Southern Mountain flint with which I took 32 squirrels last year and 29 were head shots.  Can't wait for the season to open the 27th of May this year!!!
