I use a portable table made of Aluminum that rotates 360 deg's, Can't remember the Mfg'd name but you can Goggle it up. Wouldnt be without it. It comes apart to transport, very easy to set up and is very stable. When i bought it the cost was something like 475.00 now i understand it's around 550.00. To me there is no way i would try to shoot p-Dogs without it............Joe...........

my huntin rifle is safe from confiscation only while my battle rifle protects it.

I know the man that makes the tables that Kyote is talking about and they are good tables. The man sets up his table next to me at the gun shows in Los Cruces, The shipping would eat you up so you would be better off to find something a little closer to you. If you look in google  for shooting table i am sure you will find a deal that would work for you. Good luck :D .......Joe..........

I built this bench from 1/3 sheet of oak plywood and folding legs from a local hardware store.  I think I have $40 in the bench. I use a folding chair to shoot from.  This setup has served me well.  Bubba enjoys shooting too.  Savage .204 with a Muller 8.5x25x40 and Contender .17HMR Lupold 6x18x40

hog, that looks like a nice set up.I like the barrel notchs..I drill a 3/8th hole in the side and stick dowels in, then remove them for transport.
Oso,I am sure I have met you at the lions club gun show in lost causes.I have been doing the firearms transfers for the show for the last umpteen years.I have seen the bench maker there over the years also. But have driven up to his shop in alamo to get the benchs.every one that see's them seems to want one.

:cb2: I was talkin to one guy at the range a few years ago, and he swore by his set up. It's a folding chair and an ironing board. Doesn't sound too stable to me. Cheap, however.

Mine are simmilar to Hog's only I use pipe for legs that screw into fitting on the bittom. Also 3 legged so it wont wobble. My legs also telescope so  can level it or tilt it any direction I need to. Top is two 3/4 plys glued and screwed together. It's heavy. I have an early one that I built from an old solid core door. It is really stiff and only about half the weight.

Hog, Those barrel notches are really a good idea. I'll have to steal it.   KN

I use the 5 gal bucket for a seat, but the 3-legged bench suits me better than a 4 legged.

:D Several years ago The American Rifleman had an article and set of plans for a shooting bench that folded flat for storage and transport.  The seat was connected to the table which made it more stable by the addition of the shooters weight.  I used on for years, but it finally had to go to the scrap pile and I just haven't got around to building another one.

I would bet if you rattled the door of the NRA, someone could find the plans and provide you with a copy........
