 Reviewing the paper this morning, I was amazed at the number of large companys that gave their illegals the day off to demonstrate.  I think the way to solve the problem is to give the company owners some jail time.  If some of the owners/managers were put away for a few years others would wise up, and the illegals would go home with no work.  That goes for anyone who knowingly hires an illegal.

I agree 100% jail the employers, they are breaking the law just like the illegials.  Go after the companies and give them stiff fines and jail time for the top officials.  Something has to be done.  Was listening to the radio this morning.

Heard a young Mexician woman saying, she and all her illegial friends had every right to be here.  She said that the United States government had illegially taken the southwestern states from Mexico by force and that those states were really mexician land.  She said they were just returning to their homeland and were in the process of taking the land back  for Mexico.

Folks, this country is being invaded and don't even realise it.  They aren't openly carrying guns yet, but just wait.  With attitudes like that there is some serious trouble ahead.

Just looking at the TV yesterday gave me the willies!  So many people (the marchers) who profess love for this country yet they will do  harm to it if they don`t get their way!!!!!   Forget our laws, our traditions, our "own" culture they could care less after all they are Mexicans first and illegals second.  You come into this country any way but legal and you are a criminal.........period.
If they don`t get their way "amnesty" then you saw what extent they will go to..............march/strike.
The message was,"let us in or we will shut you down." Plus as a large voting block they can certainly WAG THE DOG!
Do you really think Congress is going to fix the problem..........think
back to the 80`s.  Money talks, Mexicans get amnesty again.  :?

New York Hunter,

Cinco de Mayo is the 5th of May, a Mexican holiday celebrating their victory over the French on May 5th, 1862.

Why Mexicans celebrate Cinco de Mayo
The Cinco de Mayo (fifth of May) is the day a Mexican army defeated a French force that had been sent to Mexico as reinforcements to a French army already there.

Emperor Napoleon II of France, in the early 1860s, had been invited to take over Mexico by the upper large land owning social class in Mexico known as the Creole class and they were pure blooded descendents of those that came from Spain to rule after Spanish conquest of Mexico from Indians.  Mexican government led by Juarez (a metizo, half Indian/half Spanish) wanted to redistribute the land which led to Creoles going to Napoleon II for help.

Napoleon II will put an Austrian prince named Maximillian on throne as Emperor of Mexico and French troops used to keep him in power.  Juarez resisted the French supported Mexican government.

French troops, sent as reinforcements, had been stricken by a Cholera outbreak on its voyage across Atlantic.  Many died on ships and survivors of French troops that got to Mexico were in pretty bad shape, many too sick to fight.  When French troops tried to march inland to join with other French army, they found their route blocked by Juarez troops.  Battle that was fought won by troops of Juarez.

So, the Cico de Mayo celebrates the only battle ever won by Mexicans over a foreign army.  With end of our Civil War in 1865, U.S government made it clear to Napoleon II that we were now interested in dealing with French violation of the Monroe Doctrine.  He withdrew the French army from Mexico and Juarez able to regain control of government and execute Maxmillian

Don't know for sure if this is true, but I understand the Mexicans in U.S celebrate this day more than the Mexicans in Mexico.

What if every country had a holiday for when they defeated the French?

Thats funny.  By the way, I used to teach high school world history and about 40% of my students were of either of Mexican descent or from Mexico.  Few of them knew why they celebrated Cinco de Mayo.

I believe it was 1848 that we kicked the mexicains __tts, our marines walked down the Halls Of Montazuma (Mexico City).  Then instead of annexing them, or just taking what we pleased our troops walked out and gave them their country back.  They will never learn, so we need to just lock down the border and stop americians from going there also.  We need to boycott Mexico.  Stop the students from going to spring break in Cancun.  Think os all the dollars Americians spend in Mazatlan, and Purto Vallarito.  Not to mention Alcapulco.  Repeal NAFTA.

Illegal immigrants are here. They want to be made legal.

Fine, now your going to pay taxes on your wage. Unlike now, where you are paid under the table...cash in some instances.
You are going to pay for your own health care. Unlike now.
If the government gets it's way you will have to speak English. Unlike now.

Be careful of what you ask for.

You might get it.

One more thing. Illegal immigrants do not have the legal right to vote in this country. Democrats in my area are against voters needing to show picture ID when voting so that might be a wash.

Our walmart is having a dinner on friday in honor of the mexicans, only costs 4bucks. I refuse to participate in that crap. On Monday we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. We went to Golden Corral to eat. I asked for the mgr after we ate. I told her that in the last 4 visits I had finally gotted 2 pieces of good steak, and commented that they finally had an America serving the steak that spoke English. I told her that I always asked for medium, but got whatever the mexican server put on my plate, because he didn't speak, or understand english.  I told her that no matter what I asked for, all we got was yabba dabba doo. I told her that if they won't speak english, they have no business being on the floor with the public. She said, we try to keep them in the back. POWDERMAN.  :D  :D  :D  :D

I boycott Cinco de Mayo every year...  of course, that goes for easter and Hannuka and MLK day and.... <insert unobserved holiday here>

If I don't regularly observe something, then "boycotting" it will have a net -zero- effect.  I think this has already been said recently in a thread here somewhere.
