Does anyone have field and/or range experience with Garrett Hammerhead loads in .44 Mag?

I have. Two does, both dropped in their tracks. Range was about 15 yds and about 25. Quartering toward me. Complete penetration and almost instant collapse. These are pretty small deer. Not much of a challenge.

My old law partner used two rounds on two deer near Marfa this year, he was happy with the results and I am dropping off the rest of my box to him on Friday. He wanted more but he blinked at the price!!!!

Randy Garrett makes some of the best ammo available anywhere. Good stuff.

The only thing that I've had the opportunity to shoot with them is a eastern coyote. I guess that I don't need to tell you that it worked very well. They are awesome loads. What are you shooting them in? I shoo tmine out of a 44 Mag Ruger Balckhawk.

Buddy used them in Africa. He took a zebra with one shot from his Ruger Blackhawk Hunter.

I would be using a Ruger Redhawk and be taking hogs and maybe larger exotics in the future.

If you want to use their hottest loads, they can only be fired in the Redhawk and Raging bull. They are to long for single action revolvers and to much pressure for the S&W.
