Anybody else go or plan on going?

I went to the exhibit hall Friday. Met some great folks and saw lot's of neat stuff.

Been awhile since I've been downtown Milwaukee. Road construction on the freeway system was a pain. Parking wasn't too bad. I found a lot a few blocks away for $5. Just North of the Bradley Center for those who might be going and read this in time.

Nice to talk to reps that are knowledgeable about their product and interested in the views and questions from the consumers. Might go back Sunday and talk to all of them again just because I might not ever get a chance like this again.

Doubt the SHOT show will ever be held here and that is aimed at buyers and industry types isn't it? So in terms of the shooting/hunting industry, this is the closest I'll ever come to a trade show.

I think I'll make the best of it, I'm going back for a few hours Sunday. Might bring a few bucks and make it worth their while.

Hope to see some of you there.

Ps. If I remember to get names, I'll report back as to who I talked to and anything else I can remember.

Nix, I wished I could have gotten down there. But I had to work 12 hour shifts all weekend. Kinda ticks me off, because as you say, it may never come around these parts for quite some time. I bet the display boths were unreal. Nice to hear you had time to attend.

As an aside, this reminds me of the news from last years NRA convention in Texas when the left wing news media had a spazgasim over Ted Nugents comments of him saying he wanted murderers/rapist, etc - DEAD!! I love that guy for his stance on the issues and the way he conveys them btw.

Any speakers with those kind of nads talk this year in Milwaukee??

All I did was wander the exhibit hall.

Didn't attend any of the meetings.

Ted Nugent was on a local radio station either Thursday or Friday and it is rumored that the broadcast was so popular that they are going to sell CD's of it. Procedes going to Childrens Hospital and one of Ted's charities. www.wklh.com was the radio station in question. I just checked the site of the station and saw nothing mentioned but who knows?

Met a rep from Dan Wesson/CZ. Great guy, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Dan Wesson products. Made me want to be part of the Dan Wesson fraternity. (he also mentioned a .357 Mag for next year)

On the topic of Dan Wesson, I handled a 445VH. Absolutely gorgeous. A single action trigger pull that my stock Python could only hope to acheive. It felt like the set trigger found on the CZ 527,s. Found out that there is only one guy building Dan Wesson revolvers. I think the rep said his name was Brian.

I also met the Bryant's from Shiloh Rifle Co. Absolutely wonderful folks. I will own a Shiloh Sharps rifle in the future. This was a foregone conclusion prior to meeting the Bryants but the fact that they are such nice people cemented the deal.

Hard to put into words my time at the convention. If the SHOT show is anywhere near as cool, I need to go. Can ordinary folks like me get into the SHOT show? Or do I need to be a distributor or gunshop owner?
I'm done rambling for now....

Didn't make it, but heard from many that it was awesome.
