Torx screws for ruger rings

Ruger now sells Torx screws for their scope rings. They have blued and target grey. You need a #10 Torx bit for them. I ordered some last Friday and I'm waiting for them to come in. They are 50 cents per screw for either color.

sounds good. the ones supplied from the factory are SUPER easy to bugger up with just one slip of the screwdriver. Make you cuss a blue streak.


Anyone know of anything from a hardware store that may fit just as well? I was hoping to find some allen heads to fit.

I didn't see 'em in the accessory list on their new site. How'd you find that out, over the phone?

Rebel, yes I did find out about the torx screws when I called the factory. They are very helpful. The Target Grey screws look great on my regular stainless rings. A co-worker told me the rings he got in trade from the factory came with torx screws. My guess is evetually they will come with the torx screws with the rifles.

I did not know you could get torx head screws from Ruger and will probably get some from there for my next rifle. I have been buying allen head screws from Brownells.

As far as I'm aware they are only available in blued finish. I buy the screw refill pack for one of their packages that offers ring screws for all kinds of scopes, because I have no use for the other screws. I will go find the stock number and price and add another post here so that it will be easier to order some if you want to. I think they may be cheaper than 50 cents a piece, but don't quote me on that.

Sorry it took so long to get back on here. It has been a busy weekend.

The stock number from Brownells is #122-503-003 They are $5.74 and I believe they come in a pack of 6. This comes down to about $0.95 per screw so you might be better off going with the Ruger screws at $0.50 a piece! :roll:
