Good luck!! Walmart's supplier has been out of em for quite a while, last time I checked a week or so ago, they were still out. Nothing has changed, they're still out.

Use the search function to find posts on them, most folks don't like the recoil, several have been sold or for sale in the classifieds because of the recoil.

The recoil is pretty brutal off the bench. But not bad offhand. You might consider getting a different recoil pad installed though.

Get a 45/70 and don't look back, you won't regret it. If you don't reload there are factory loads available from pussycat to sledgehammer.

Has anyone shot the new 500 S&W in the handirifle?
Been thinking about getting one. I use a wheelchair so recoil is a issue with me.
Also are they hard to get thru Walmart?
It's either that or a 270 - 308!
Thanks Mike

Mike, I think if you use the search feature, you'll find that the .500S&W has more recoil that you would be comfortable with, many are sold due to that alone. There are 2 for sale in the NEF Classifieds right now.
