Just wondering how everybody has done during Spring Turkey season? I hunted 5 of the first 7 days of the season, and things were pretty quiet. It seems the real intense gobbling stopped a week to 10 days before the season opened this year. I did call one in, but he hung up behind a big deadfall about thirty yards from me, and I couldn't close the deal. I hunted both in Carbon county and Centre county, and while we heard some gobbling, most birds didn't seem at all responsive to any calling we did.
We did have great weather and it was nice to be out.
