41 or 375 barrel tube available.
« on: May 19, 2006, 11:02:27 AM »
Guys, I won the bid on an eight inch  357 SuperMag barrel tube on eBay,  It has arrived and is in great shape but is not a 357.  I make it out to be either a 375 tube for a 375 SuperMag or a 41 tube for a 414 SuperMag or a 41 Magnum.

I plan to return it to seller on Monday but if anybody here wants it, get an email to me by Monday morning and we'll figure something out.  I figure 375 and 41 caliber tubes don't grow on trees.

(I measure the groove diameter as too big for a 375 and too small for a 41.  Either my measuring technique leaves something to be desired or I'm just plain nuts.  I'll try to get a better measurement over the week end.)

What kind of shape is the bore in? I'd like a spare for my scratched 375 SM barrel, but this is an inconvenient time for me to buy it.

Is the seller any help?

As near as I can tell its a 375 tube and not a 41.  Eight inch stainless.  The bore looks very good to me.  I think this tube has seen very little use.
I has a thread mismatch with my 357 SuperMag and with my 44, as would be expected if it's a 375.

The seller has said to send the barrel tube back to him for a refund, so what ever I do I need to do it pretty quickly.

It was only the tube.  looking down the bore I thought it had be fired but looking at the forcing cone it appered unfired.  In any case it's in new condition or next to it.

I have sent it back to the seller for a refund.  If you are still ineterested I can give him your name or vice versa.
