Yet another question..... I purchased some bullets recently and I can't find any reloading data specific to them.  They are Remington 22 Hornet 45 Gr HP in a 100 count bag. Anybody have some info to share? Thanx to one and all.  Stu

What cartridge are you loading those in ?

If I remember right, Hornet bullets were .223" dia. I have no idea where to find specific data for them but if in fact they are .223", just use data for .224" bullets. They may not shoot all that well.

Seems I read somewhere thet the early Hornets barrels were .223".

You are correct about the early barrels being .223 diameter.
However, the odds are these bullets he has are .224 diameter nowadays.
We still need to know what cartridge he's loading for.
I'm not going to assume it's a Hornet simply because he got
45 grain "Hornet Bullets".
Ah well, some online data from the various powder companies should
work for him in any case.

22 Hornet dat for use with 45 grain JSP
Remington 6 1/2 small rifle primer
H110 10 to 12 gr
2400 7 to 8.3 gr
IMR4227 10 to 11.3 gr
IMR4198 10.5 to 11.5 gr

These come to you from the Lyman and Speer manuals
Always start low, work up in small increments and stop when you find an accurate load or the maximum listed load - which ever comes FIRST.

so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.

Sorry guys, I am indeed loading for the 22 Hornet cartridge and it would seem from your comments that I should treat it like any other 45gr bullet and start light and work up from there. Yes?
