Last years bear mount
« on: March 20, 2006, 05:45:27 AM »
Here is my black bear from last year.  He was mounted by Dave Winney from Valdez.  I did not realize how big the bear was until I picked him up. Dave had to use a small grizzly form to mount him on.  I also found a way to keep the dog off of the couch.  He won't go near it now.

That's a good looking bear Dave.  It'll be hard to beat.

Temp is supposed to be above freezing here in Fairbanks this week, time to start glassing the southern slopes.  I'll be leaving Thursday for a week of doing just that.  I'm getting antsy about being able to get out after being cooped up all winter.

I will probably have a foot of snow to clear this afternoon.  All of our exposed slopes are gone for now.  In town they got more and it is supposed to continue. :(

Keeps the dog off the couch?  Can I borrow it for awhile? :)

Nice bear!

I posted the information in the Alaska Forum somewhere the year I got him.  He squared 7' and if I remember correctly he was 18 9/16.

I passed this week on a 6'5"-8" bear this week.  It is early yet and I want another 7 footer.  My greed may do me in.

Dave if you've already got a 7' bear then I understand letting a 6'5" bear walk.

I'm kinda choked because bloody yard work is keeping me at home all spring and I haven't got out at all...  :(

Dave,

Good call on letting that sub-7-foot bear walk    Adam or I will be happy to take him home with one of us...

Less than a week to wait now.
