Which scope?
« on: May 17, 2006, 12:40:37 PM »
Just got a 24" S.S. .243 brl. for my Encore. This gun will be used for deer from point blank to about 200yds. and the occ. ground hog and coyote. The scope I was thinking about is the Leupold VXII ultralight 3x9. Is this a good set up or would you pick a different scope?

That scope will serve your needs well although I am partial to Nikons.
Good luck with the Encore barrel!!!

Sounds like a great choice.  :D

Which scope?

For close in deer hunting in woods (i.e. point blank) I would prefer a scope with a larger field of view, say a 2-7 or 2.5-8, my deer rifle carries the Leupold 1.75-6. Leupold would be my first choice brandwise.
