New rem 1100 g3 vs old rem1100 skeet model ?????
« on: February 03, 2008, 05:19:56 AM »
I am considering buying a used left handed 1100 skeet model with the 25.5"barrel.  What would be considered a fair price for this gun?
I am also looking at the new 1100 but have been told by a few that they are not as well made as the older ones. I would be using it for skeet exclusively. Opinions?

I've never heard of one with a 25.5" barrel. They come in 26", 28" and 30" lengths. I like the original 1100s better than the newer G3 myself. The dimensions of the old seem to fit me better but the new G3 works fine, I just don't shoot it as well as the original.

I see the older ones used around here for anywhere from $275 to $350 depending on condition and how they are set up. You should be able to get one in that price range I'd think.
