Need some advice
« on: January 29, 2007, 04:26:36 AM »

My son has some property up in Eastern Massachusetts where he presently has deer. However, he'd like to put in some food plots so they will stay longer and grow bigger. Does anyone have experience in that part of the country in what perennial or annual will grow best and achieve the results he is looking for?

Thanks ahead for any help you can give.

See Quality Deer Management Association for discussions about Plots

Getting back to you a little late...

I would suggest you and your son surf over to http://www.qdma.com Quality Deer Management Association, register there, and post any questions.  Food plotting, soils, seeds, habitat, equipment, deer management, wildlife biology, regional, global, and specific deer and site issues are discussed there. Many well recognized wildlife biologists and life-long dedicated deer managers will respond - quite a few from your "neck of the woods".  The advice from the QDMA board is sincere.

Let us know if that works for you.  Keep us up to date here as well.

Good luck.  See you @ QDMA.

Thanks Landowner
As a matter of fact I found that http://www.qdma.com  Site and looked up his area. There is a get together on the 15th of the month up on Cape Cod. My son talked to one of the guys running it and he said they would gladly help him decide what to plant. It's only 60 miles from his place so he's going to go.
