My neighbor has "GLOCK FEVER". He wants to buy a new Glock pistol ASAP. He has never shot any type of gun. He has asked me for advise on choice for his first pistol. I have tried to get him to start with a 22 but no luck. What do you think?

"Glock Fever" huh? Must have been brought on by some really cool movie. I agree, sounds like a poor choice for a first pistol. Hope he doesn't shoot himself-----------

Now, is that a Glock Model 22, or a .22 cal pistol?  Me, I personally like the Glock, basically because it is my duty carry.....Lot of bullets..

Your friend has nice taste in handguns.  He really should enroll in a certified training course before buying a handgun.  The Glock is as safe as any other firearm, and safer than many others.  Proper handling and a good holster are of paramount importance, as with any pistol.

He can always buy an aftermarket .22 upper if he waneted one.

This weekend I am going to let him shoot my Ruger .22 auto. If he does OK with it,maybe I will let him try the Glock 21. He really has the "FEVER".

My first gun and handgun was a Glock 19.  I did ok.  The main thing with a Glock is to emphasize the trigger discipline required.

The 4 safety rules for Glock triggers

Keep your finger of the trigger.
Keep your damn finger of the trigger.
Keep you finger of the damn trigger.
Keep your damn finger of the damn trigger.
