I had a few left-over 460gr cast performance loads so I had to go to the range and try the new rifle out. The lower hole was the third shot and I called it, the fourth shot cut the space between the third and first two. This round chronographed 1440fps from a guide gun and 1520 from the 26" Marlin, so I am guessing something around 1550+ from this barrel.

I am going to move the POI to the left and call it good for now. I took one shot with my last 525gr on the adjacent target and it was lower than the lowest hole on this target. I might bump that load up one grain. I will have to get a lower front sight and some eyeball help to shoot past 100. I fooled around with a piece of tape with a pinhole in it on my safety glasses but I couldn't get everything lined up right. I may have to get a corrective lens in the peep itself.

With some figuring I should be able to come close to knowing where the zero point is, maybe 100 yards? What do you think?

The trigger is good. Better than my Marlin and much better than the '86. It breaks clean with no creep. I don't think I need it much lighter, will see if shooting slicks it some. Recoil isn't a problem with these light loads.

I had a blast   :)      Even tho the target was close enough for me to see it!

Williams offers several different apertures with different size holes in em,  for target work, I like a pin hole and larger disc, but for hunting, the twilight aperture or no aperture works best. They also make a ghost ring.

Thanks Tim, I am going to explore all that stuff. I don't know why, but I really like shooting this gun. That big bullet blew big clouds of dust off the berm. Can't wait to find some steel targets to ring!!
