jim - if you want to use any of these for any hunting or shooting you might want to think of the 6.5 Swede and the K98.  They have the most common ammo availability and both are excellent game calibers.  The others, to me, may be some fine rifles and certainly the Mausers of all types interest me but those are also some of the oldest actions (Sile Ossian Mauser excepted, not familiar with that contract unless it's the Turkish contract) and already modified.  The 6.5 is a very accurate cartridge and all my 8mms, including a K98, shoot very well.  I'm certain others will help with their advice too.  HTH.  Mikey.

swedish 6.5x55 and the german 8mm mauser.

the rest are "homemade" builds that you would have to make sure you knew what you were doing to reload for them.

I'd take the 1909 Argentine. Caliber don't mean much when your talkin' bubbaized Mausers, cause it's so easy to change.

Well,I was over to his house last night and he ask me again,I told him I
needed more time.He brought out this German 1893 and handed it to me.
And says keep it,He really did a nice sporterized job on it.The barrel is only 24"long and the stock is really nice.It dos'nt even look or come close
to a milatary rifle. He showed me the others and that 1909 Argentine and
the Argentine Mauser are looking good.I've been thinking NOT get the Argentine Mauser because it takes 7.65x53 ammo. What do you think?By
the way I do all ready have a K-98 and 6.5 mm Swed.And I could'nt accept the 1893 for free,I ended giveing him $50 for it.. :?

7.65 is an excellent round. Ballistically it hovers right around a 308
and in some loads surpasses it. Hornady loads a nice 150 gr. softpoint
hunting round for it. (Runs about a buck a shot though).

If it is a m-96 swede and you can live with the length  if you plan to  hunt, it would be my choice.  If the bore is good it should be very accurate, you won" be dissapointed at the range.  It won't kick the hell out of you and in many Euro countries (Sweden included) it is used all the time for big game up to Moose.  Very nice to shoot!  I have one that was a civilian model with apperture/globe target sights and it keeps em in the 10 ring all day long at 200yds.

Get all of them. If you can't then get the k98. I've been lookin for one. Other wise any of them are great rifles. Alec
