Hey guys ive got a handi and im shooting 44,and 357 mag barrels.Im shooting cast out of them ,my question is what grain slugs can i shoot out of these, My44 is 1-38 twist ,my 357 is 1-18.75.I was told 270 was max for my 44, id like to shoot 300-325gr.And what is it for the 357 id like to shoot 180 out of that.     Thanks Mike :D

Sometimes they will surprise you.  You won't really know until you shoot them.  The 180 ought to be fine in the .357 though.

My Colt Anaconda handles 336 grain LFN gas checked cast bullets just fine.  Outside of the Alaskan browns I don't think there's an animal in N. America that can't be taken with it.  That's just MHO.

Never mind bullet weight - use Greenhill's formula:

 Bullet Length = 150 diameter Squared divided by twist.

This may not be the most up to date information, but it gets you closer than most.
