leupold vs zeiss

First time I have posted in this section, so this may have been discussed already, but I need some opinions

I am going to buy a 6.5-20 scope for my .338 win. mag. I plan on taking this sheep hunting in a few years and want a scope with the magnification to reach out there if needed.

I have narrowed it down to the Leupold Vari-X III or the Zeiss Conquest.

What do ya'll think?  Anyone have experience with both?

I have both,both are first class.
Glass both & take it from there.You will notice the reticles/weight differ,so that might hold the key to the purchase.

Also IMO I would use no more than a 14x scope,but if that's(6.5-20) what turns you on buy it.
I have a Vx111 3.5-10x50 on my 17Rem.Tagging foxes out to 300m,just my 2 cents.

Hope this helps,goodluck.
Tez.

I wouldn't want to be saddled with that rifle scope/combo.
Leupold 4.5-14x40 part#55094 is absolute max I'd go with 3.5-10x40 preferable.

Do yourself a favor talk to Jon at The optic zone. they may still have the deal on the Ziess conquest . you don't need more than a 3-9x40,but with a .338 winmag you do need the eye relief (the conquest has 4 inches of eye relief}
