My name is Ed, I am 45 years old and have been trapping since I was 13. I guess I like mink trapping more than anything, it is still special when I see a big buck mink in a #1 that was set in a pocket. I am looking forward to setting snares for the first time this year in PA.

I am 57 years old. I trapped pocket gophers from 1956 to 1962, I trapped rats, coon and fox from 1963-66
I started trapping again in 1980 and have trapped every year since.
I teach adult agriculture at a technical college and have a degree in Wildlife Ecology, dairy and ag econ ( Some of us just can't make up our minds)
I mostly trap coons as that is what we have most of and the farmers want them dead. Will trap canine more in the future.
Actually from a fun point of view I actually enjoy muskrat trapping the most.
Live in East-Central WI about 10 miles from Lake Michigan and about 50 miles due south of Green Bay WI.

Hello,

My name is Bill. I live in a small town in eastern Nevada, about as far from anywhere else in the lower 48 as you can get. 57 years old and have been trapping for 37 years. Cats are the name of the game here. Coyotes and Grey Fox are fun too. Still new to the forums, but do a little posting. A guy sure can spend a lot of time reading what's posted. Good to see pics of cats from other states.

My name is Scot.  I am 52 and live in Oregon, WI, in southern Wisconsin.  I am a fisheries biologist and an adicted muskie fisherman, thus the nick name.  I started trapping in 1973, didn't trap for many years, then started up again about four years ago.  My favorite animal to trap is mink, followed closely by rats and beaver.  I dabble with canines and fisher when I get a chance to head north.

I found this site a month or two ago and really enjoy it.

I'm Dan,  live in Alaska, I've been following GB in the shooting forums for several years but this is my first year checking the trapping forum.

I trapped one fall in highschool, didn't catch much but I cherish the time because my dad would go with me. At the time I didn't have any school pals to hang with.  Was good to have dad's support.

I trapped a couple pest beaver out of my yard a couple years ago. But this fall I have some property with a little cabin. I'm 51, retired, my oldest boy is 8 and loves to get out.  What better reason to trap again, get some needed winter exercise.

There was quite a bit of sign early in the season.  I haven't caught much- 1 beaver, 2 weasels, and I'm beginning to reduce the squirrels around the cabin.  But the exercise and trips with my boys have been great.  This has been a much more enjoyable winter than the last 2. And the boys liked the roast beaver.

Given my poor catch, I've taken to checking this forum for ideas and advice.  I'd like to catch a few fox, coyote, otter, beaver, marten or mink.  To just have a wolf or wolverine get close to a set would be a thrill for me.

I luv this and all forums.

If ever I have an answer I post it. But the problems start when guys know answers and don't post them.

If you look at the subject line and see 56 people viewed your post and only 1 replied. That is bad.

I am 32 I live in Ontario Canada about 40 minutes from Buffalo NY
I love trapping and hunting and fishing because it is my life and it is all I know. Been born and raised that way I don't know how not to do these things.

I feel when I'm am out in the wilds that I am living "life" while everybody else is just living.

However this is my first year on the forums. Hate to see any of them go!!!!

My name is Brad, 41 years old,and live in Jonesboro, AR.  I have only been trapping for three years and have fell in love with it. I have a 16 year old that is addicted as I am.  I started out on beaver, but have concentrated more on otter and bobcat this year.  Sold 48 beaver, 21 otter, 11 bobcats, 28 grays and 35 coon.  Too many nasty possums to count.  Great website and I always enjoy reading the posts.

I live in Ohio and drive down in southern ohio to a cabin that my family has. I was wondering if any one can tell me what is the goeing rate for coyotes in Southern Ohio and how you get the mony. I am just starting trapping because my dad did it but he says it has died down since his day. So I was just wondering about the coyotes.
