RSR Hornet
« on: May 28, 2006, 02:08:37 AM »
Just got in the 22 Hornet RSR.  Picked it up Fri. afternoon from my local dealer.  I used the info on this site and ordered it, had the local guy do the paperwork, and it's now mine all mine!  Sorry, got carried away.  Now it's time to clean the action, JB the barrel, and start working up a good handload.  It sure is pretty with the red and gray straight grip stock, but I can't say too much good about the sights.  I'll have to go the scope route, or maybe try sights off of a BC and see how they work with my bifocals.  Getting old ain't for sissies!  Thanks, guys.  Without this site and the link, I'd have never known that they even made a rifle in this configuration, let alone purchse one.  My local guy was so impressed, he is ordering a half dozen RSR handi's for his store stock.

Congrats Daniel!! :agree: I hope the dealer didn't order the other calibers that they list as having iron sights, at least from TGS, they have the .270 listed but it doesn't have a straight stock or iron sights, just the red/black monte carlo stock, I think the Hornet is the only one in that configuration, and that makes sense since NEF puts sights on the Hornet normally.

Daniel if the dealer orders direct from RSR the his cost is $160 for the Hornet and the 270 plus frieght. The 243 is $180. Digger

Shot my RSR 270 today, sadly, it replaces my 44 Mag Handi as the most inaccurate Handi. Was using old 270 Rem CorLocs....haven't done anything to it yet but clean it. Will try different ammo, then forend mods , polish barrel and so on.......until it shoots well. 3" at 50 yards will not do!
