Federal Match Primer Shortage
« on: June 02, 2006, 02:58:09 AM »
Running low on Fed 210M (Large Rifle Match) primers, I went to all of the normal providers I've used for years and couldn't come up with any.
One source (and I consider this to be an uncomfirmed report) mentioned that Federal may have had a quality problem of some type relating to the red pigmentation we see on these primers.

Now, switching primer brands isn't all THAT big of a deal, however, experience tells me that I often have to work up a new load if I change primers.  The new load usually only goes up or down in powder charge quantity.

Just an inconvenience - but we are getting close to Ridgway time!

Anyway, if anyone has heard something more definitive for the primer shortage, please share it with the rest of us.
