54.18msr's?
« on: May 24, 2006, 04:23:21 AM »
I had thought that they were out of production but talked with Neal Stepp this am and he has them in both stock configurations.
Has anyone heard anything new about Anschutz plans on these?

I spoke with Neal today and he said he had heard the same thing but the 54.18 is still being delivered. He said he would be checking the status but from another vendor they say they are gone.

G'Day All
Apparently they are doing limited production runs as one of our dealers in Aus had to order a min of 6.

How about a limited run with a sporter weight barrel? I think I would want one!

That sounds good.

And maybe also in a FWT stock, sort of a 'custom shop' sporter.

Anything is possible, I guess.

We had one built from here by Anschutz on the 'Fortner' biathlon action for a quick cycle, without the need to remove from the shoulder,

as Troy used to do with his Custom 10/22.

It languishes in a gun cupboard somewhere. What a shame. I could put it to good use !!!

I thought that Anschutz had canned the single shot MS 54's, but that the magazine fed MSR was still in production ?

cheers,
Sean in 'Godzone'

G'Day Sean
Nice to see your still about. Are you coming to the Australian  Nationals? If you are and need a air rifle let me know and I'll try to arrange one. I'll be flying to Canberra for the ACT State titles on thursday, this year they are shooting "Hunting Gun" as well. Hope to hear from you soon.

If you want I'll put that Fortner to good use for you.

Hey Juddy,

Unfortunately, the Fortner isn't mine,
otherwise I would be putting it to good use.

I doubt if I'll make the Nationals this year.

Thanks for asking.

Back to 54.18, et al,
I believe also that the 1808MSR has been discontinued as well.

We've got a handful in use here.

The 54MSR seems to have been made availabale with the thumbhole stock to replace it.

It's a shame you won't make it over this year. I'll let you know where the nationals will be 2007 after the meeting. I would like to get a Fortner myself but finding one for the right price might be a problem. As far as the 54 msr's go you are correct they now seem to be all thumbhole models.
