:roll: It seem like every table at the last gun show had used Colt ARs for sale. The fact that they are not making them available to the public may be the reason for the high price. If I remember correctly, I paided about $400. for mine when I bought it back in the late sixties. Today the same gun is selling (asking price) for 12-14 hundred dollars. That is a fairly good return on my investment. :wink:
Having been on the business end of both, I wouldn't trade my AK-47 for a Colt if I couldn't replace it. Many of us that served in Nam traded the AR for an AK. That eliminated a lot of the jamming and cleaning problems, it also provided for better firepower. Ammo was readily available on the battlefield too, much of it reloaded, or old commie surplus, but the AK always seemed to diguest it.
