Cleaned the heck out of my new used RSBH and at the end i started getting a green tint on the patches. I assume this is oxidized copper? Is this good bad or ugly? also a stupid question how do i remove the cylinder so i can really get in there and clean things up. Mayby this is why i couldnt hit squat.

Absolutely get the copper out. I suspect as you have, the barrel is still clogged with bullet remains. If you don't have some already, get some "copper" solvent and have at it. It may take a while but the reward will be a better shooting revolver. You should see plenty of blue patchs while the copper is being disolved. When they start to come out clean you will know you are getting to the end.

If you want to speed up the process use some bore paste and scrub with that as well.

Getting the copper out is a good thing.

To remove the cylinder, open the loading gate then push the transverse mounted base pin retaining device and pull the base pin towards the front of the gun.

This will allow the cylinder to slip out of the right side (loading gate side) of the gun.

If you let the cleaner set for a while, a lot more of that stuff will come out. Just keep at it with jags and brushes. When you get your clyinder out, be sure to spend a while on cleaning it. A lot of junk gets built up in the end of the chambers that most folks don't pay attention to. Ends up like trying to shoot slugs thru a full choke shotgun...It'll work,just not real well.

xphunter beat me to it, just get a can of wipe out, follow the directions to a T and go watch the game, shoot a different gun, grill supper, or sleep over night, then just wipe it out, copper issue solved!

Refer to your owners manual for instructions for cylinder removal. If you don't have one, contact Ruger and they will send you one free. Copper in the bore can be removed with "Sweets 7.62", just follow the instructions on the bottle.
