Choosing a gun vise

What would be a good gun vise to use for inletting, bedding, etc?  I found several plastic models that do not look very adjustable or sturdy.  Can't seem to find them locally to get a hands on assessment.  Cabelas has a wooden vise that looks sturdy, but not very adjustable (for $50).  "The Ultimate Gun Vise" looks very adjustable, but costs $130 or so.  Advice needed.  TKS.

I like the ones sold by Brownells, but I bought one for the house from Woodworker's supply, the Shopfox brand, basically the same design but made in China for $50. Add the Brownells padded vise jaws and you're in business.

I think what the initial writer was talking about was a gun holder/vise. Nobade is talking about a steel vise with clamp locking jaws.. The design is very common in the firearms trade and in other trades as well. The wide flat jaws are kinder to wood stocks and will stll old metal well. I've used a wooden jig to hold guns I'm working on (bedding, cleaning etc) for many years.. I've one the plastic cleaning centers but use it mainly for photo sessions..  GunSlick (Outers???) makes an adjustable vise/front brace for cleaning an such that is customized by screwing to a board or bench.  It looks reasonably sturdy and is not too pricey.. I've seen them for sale on EBat quite often..
