Picatinny rings fitting Weaver bases? Vise/Versa?

I posted this over at the Remington forum, but no response. Hopefully someone here might catch it.
Does anyone make a Picatinny style base that will fit my XR-100?

I read on another forum a member used a  short action base for Model 700, on his XR.  If thats so I could find one easily, but I can't confirm this?

I'm mounting a Super Sniper 16x42 on it and want to use tactical Picatinny rings like these Burris:

Another question, would these Picatinny style rings fit a Weaver style 2 piece base?

Just looking for some info fellas, and I'm itching to shoot this thing.

For the benifit of anyone else here wondering the same, I just got an email back from Remington, and they had this to say about the bases:
"No, Model 700 bases will
not work. You will need to use Model 7 bases on the XR 100."

So I guess it has to be 7 bases then.
Still wondering if this combination would work of rings and Weaver bases
